French perfumer Guerlain has named actress, filmmaker and humanitarian Angelina Jolie as the face of its new fragrance Mon Guerlain. The sex-symbol will donate her entire earnings from the campaign to charity.
“We create perfumes for the women we admire,” Jacques Guerlain said in a statement, whilst the brand’s master perfumer Thierry Wasser said he drew inspiration from Angelina to create a fragrance expressing the “notes of a woman”.
Throughout the new ad, Angelina Jolie “embodies modern femininity” as she glides through a sunlit space, mastering the art of the femme fatale. She slips through silky curtains, enrobed in a creamy palates, perches au-natural on a windowsill and rehearses her lines.
Because it was a brand my mother loved, and that I knew from my childhood. It spoke to her, as it does to me, of beauty, history and quality. It’s the oldest perfume house in the world, from France, a country I love and feel to connected to and spend time in.
The video below also highlights the scent’s natural composition, as a perfumer composes the formula alongside the actress.
Mon Guerlain, the house’s new fragrance, is a tribute to today’s femininity – a strong, free and sensual feminity, inspired by Angelina Jolie.
