We have no doubt that the Bugatti Chiron is a marvel of engineering and also the fastest production sports car, but it was also never destined to be nearly as ground breaking as the Veyron.
From the way it looks to its features, there isn’t any division in which the New Bugatti Chiron lacks in luxury and performances. This beast on wheels really worths a ride.
Read below 5 facts that you need to know about the fastest and the most powerful car in the world.
1. The New Bugatti Chiron has 1,479bhp
Welcome the new 261mph, 1,479bhp successor of the Veyron! The fastest car in world.
The Chiron is not a hybrid. Unlike its closest competitors – the McLaren P1, LaFerrari and Porsche 918 – it relies solely on fossil fuels. Its engine is a development of the Veyron’s 8.0-litre quad-turbo W16, its gearbox a strengthened version of the Veyron’s seven-speed twin-clutch, and like the Veyron it deploys its immense power through all four wheels.
2. Its name comes from the legendary Louis Alexandre Chiron
The name comes from Louis Chiron, a decorated Bugatti driver in the formative years of the 20th century.
One of the original Grand Prix greats, Chiron led quite a life. Born in Monaco at the turn of the 20th century, he became an army driver during the First World War and a chauffeur immediately after, but clearly had an eye on driving at higher speeds.
Chiron became a professional dance partner at the Hotel de Paris in Monte Carlo, whirling wealthy women around the dance floor before buying his first Bugatti at the age of 26, allegedly financed by one of his dancing partners. Before long he’d traded up to a beautiful Type 35 Grand Prix car, won a slew of races and become part of the Bugatti factory team, rising rapidly to become its no. 1 driver.
3. It’s equipped with a lag-less 7-speed automatic transmission
With a $2.6 million price tag,the new Bugatti Chiron has an army of mustangs to launch it on the road. The tsunami of power moves earth under the wheels with 1479bhp. All this whirl of power is generated by an 8.0-litre quad turbo W16 specially treated Volkswagen engine. Perhaps that’s a fair price for a new model that Bugatti modestly describes as the “world’s most powerful, fastest, most luxurious and most exclusive production super sports car”.
4. The world fastest car
The new car from Bugatti has a limited top speed of 261 MPH, close to1500 horsepower, and can go from zero to 62 miles per hour in 2.5 seconds. These are just a few of the numbers that make the new Bugatti Chiron one of the most insane mass-produced cars in the world.
A limited top speed? That could mean that with the limiter removed, the Chiron could be even faster.
5. Almost 200 pieces are already sold!
Bugatti – which is part of Volkswagen – announced ath Geneva that will make just 500 of the first Chiron series, and a third of them have already been sold.
